Operation Fish Eagle is an multi-agency investigation into the trafficking of abalone in Eastern Cape, South Africa. On May 2, 2023, with assistance from the South African Investigative Liason, the team monitored and intercepted suspect vehicles which resulted in the seizure of 9398 units of abalone valued at $110,000 USD. The driver escaped,however two (2) suspects were arrested and a Porsche and Toyota vehicle were also seized. Participating agencies included South Africa Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Environmental Affairs and the South African National Police.
