On May 23, 2023, the seller of 4 white lion cubs was arrested during a Focused Conservation supported undercover law enforcement operation in Mulderdrift, South Africa. The South African Investigative Liason, received intelligence that the 4 white lion cubs were taken from the Rhino and Lion Safari Park in Gauteng, South Africa. The seller was offering other animals for sale, to include cheetah, aardwolf, wild dogs, and more. The information was shared with SAPS Organized Crime Unit and the operation resulted in the arrest of the suspect and seizure of the cubs. The cubs were turned over to the Rhino and Lion Safari Park.
