On June 16, 2023, the Uganda Wildlife Crime Unit led a multi-agency team under Operation KATE that resulted in the arrest of two (2) suspects and the seizure of ten (10) duiker skins near Rwampara, Uganda. The traffickers met with operatives and offered what were originally described as “large pangolin skins”, however the traffickers indicated the pangolin skins were already sold so they offered the duiker skins instead.
