On June 22, 2023, the Uganda Wildlife Crime Unit led a multi-agency operation called Operation SKAGEN that resulted in the arrest of two (2) traffickers who possessed 2 elephant tusks weighing approximately 20 kgs. The traffckers met with operatives in the Wakiso District near Kampala.
