On July 11, 2023, a mulit-agency operation led by the Uganda Wildlife Crime Unit (UWCU) resulted in the arrest of 3 subjects and seizure of one pangolin skin near the town of Soroti, Northern Uganda. The suspects denied killing the pangolin but were offering it up for sale.
